Private Long Island Houseman for Formal Residence

Family in Huntington/Long Island seeking a Houseman for their private residence. Candidate should be a team player, non-smoking, happy, and positive minded person who will work with others in the heart of the home. Individuals well suited for the Houseman position will be able to follow detailed instructions but will also prove to be a self-starter. Qualified candidates will have experience dealing with household vendors and will be comfortable running errands for the principal. Flexibility is needed and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
As a private houseman, you may be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, pet care and more. Being flexible means being able to adapt to changing circumstances and responsibilities.
Some additional requirements may be:
• Cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, stairways, and other household areas
• Organizing and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies
• Maintaining inventory of household supplies and equipment such as toilet paper, soap, light bulbs, etc.
• Tending to pets or performing other household maintenance tasks that do not require extensive training or expertise
• Polishing silverware, dishes, and other items that need to be cleaned but cannot be washed in a dishwasher
• Cleaning and sanitizing furniture and other items that cannot be moved from their location
• Dusting shelves, blinds, baseboards, ceilings, windowsills, and other surfaces in the home
• Cleaning floors and carpets using steam or shampoo machines. May also clean walls, ceiling fans, or other hard to reach places on request
• Deep cleaning
• Laundry
• Fine garments
• Formal serving
• Car maintenance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule including working weekends, holidays, AM, PM, or Overnight shifts.
• Experience with mobile technology, Apps etc
• At least average oral communication
• Requires walking and repetitive motions and may on occasion have to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• 2-3 years of hotel housekeeping experience preferred.
• Exceptional service orientation, with keen ability to focus and deliver on guest needs.
• Reliable and responsible character, with exceptional follow up and attention to detail
• Ability to adhere to expectations and standards for friendliness, speed, quality and efficiency.
• Willingness and ability to support fellow team members in reaching departmental goals.
• Ability to work effectively as an independent contributor, and as a part of a collaborative team.
• Ability to multi-task and effectively manage numerous priorities within a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35/hour…open to negotiation depending on experience
